We are proud to announce that Univers Publishing House founded, starting with November 1st 2009, a sister-company in USA. Univers Publishing Company Ltd will publish and sell on the American market fiction books and will act, at the same time, as a literary agency for European authors and as a provider of editorial services.

Univers is an independent publishing company, founded in 1961, which focuses on translations in the field of world literature, literary criticism and theory of culture.   Univers  was founded in 1961, so it has more almost 50 year years of an active presence in  the Romanian cultural field.  For all that time, Univers  was  known as the main publishing house specialized in translations, and more of 5000 titles were published  for the first time under Univers company’s logo, most of them being important names of the universal literature: Gabriel Garcia Marques, J. D. Salinger,  John Fowles, Milan Kundera, Michel Foucault, Michel Tournier,   Andrei Makine, Julio Cortazar, George Orwell, Ernesto Sabato,  Thomas Pynchon, Franz  Kafka, Ingmar Bergman,  Jostein Gaarder, Boris Vian, Simone de Beauvoir.
